A quick post today to focus your attention on something I think is really cool about this new iteration of PWNtheSAT.com—your stats page. You can reach it from any page on the site as long as you’re logged in—just to the right of your username in the top right corner. Once you’re in, there’s a (more…)

First of all, I just want to wish those of you who are taking the May SAT tomorrow the very best of luck. Here’s hoping you PWN it into oblivion. If you’re looking for a few day-before-the-test things to read, here are some links: 7 things to do today if you’re taking the SAT tomorrow (more…)
I have a lot to say about the new SAT’s essay; I might not end up being able to squeeze it all into one post, but I’m going to try. In order to give this post a bit of structure—both to help me organize my thoughts and to help you find what you’re looking for—I’m (more…)
I’ve been getting a lot of questions in my email about the different membership levels available when you sign up as a member of this site, so I figured a short post might help clear some things up. Changing levels If you already own one or both of my books, or if you buy them, (more…)
As you know, I’ve been poking around in the 200-page document recently released by the College Board about the new SAT (coming March 2016). I’ve been receiving reports from a bunch of March SAT takers (here are two examples) that they had strange experimental sections, most notably an 18-question reading/writing section that might be a preview of the new Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) section that will appear on the new SAT in 2016. There were some reports of (more…)
All this talk about the new SAT is interesting and all, but we’ve still got two years to live with the old one, so let’s get back to our regularly scheduled PWNing. Here’s a minorly important circle fact that I find a lot of students don’t know: when a wheel is rolling—without slipping—it makes travels (more…)
If you’re preparing for the SAT right now, then you probably don’t need to worry about this—the test won’t change until March 2016. Even if you’re a sophomore right now, if you’re already thinking about the SAT then your focus should be on the current test, not the new one. Well, that was certainly interesting! I (more…)
