I’ve answered this question (from the old Blue Book for the old SAT) here. This question type is still fair game on the new SAT, but I encourage you to use current materials, as lots of stuff on the old SAT isn’t relevant on the new SAT, and lots of stuff on the new SAT didn’t appear at all on the old SAT. The tests are very different.
