Because the same thing always happens when you divide by 100, it’s natural to eventually get away from writing out the “over 100” fractions like I’ve been doing so far in this chapter and just instantly translating “27 percent of 49” to “0.27 \times 49.” Pretty much every student I’ve ever worked with does that….
