There are a lot of things I’m good at, but javascript is not one of them. When I first started this site, I MacGyver’d together some code to do a regular expression search of the content and replace vocab words with red links to definitions, but as the site has grown and other important elements have been added (Disqus comments, Facebook and Google+ sharing, etc.) it’s become clear that the code I wrote isn’t good enough. It prevents things from loading properly, breaks links when vocab words appear in them, and makes capitalized words lowercase when it transforms them.

None of these are unfixable problems for a coder who knows what’s up, but I am not that person. Are you?

Google Analytics tells me that many of you visit me from top-tier colleges. I always assume that’s because you’re getting your feet wet in the tutoring business and need tips and material, which I am happy to provide. I’m wondering if any of you take CS classes, and if you’d be willing to help me out with some code that won’t break my site.

You can see the code here. If you think you can help me out, send me an email or leave a comment. I am willing to pay you for good work.

Toodles,
Mike
