On page 110 in your Math Guide, why did you decide to use values for a that are greater than 1, between 0 and 1, between -1 and 0, and less than -1? It’s so hard for me to see/come up with that kind of reasoning! I would have just chosen a random value. How do you come up with that logic?

Well, with that particular problem, I’m trying to suggest to you that if you have a similar question, you should choose similarly. Exponents behave differently with bases are in those four groups, and that’s knowledge that will be useful to you going forward. 🙂
