Hi, I have a question for # 4 on pg. 78. Wouldn’t the answer to that question be -3?

No…my best guess is that you’re missing a negative sign somewhere?

Since the lines intersect at (-3,-2), we can plug that point into both equations to solve for c and d.

y=3x+c\\-2=3(-3)+c\\-2=-9+c\\7=c

4y-3x=11-d\\4(-2)-3(-3)=11-d\\-8-(-9)=11-d\\-8+9=11-d\\1=11-d\\-10=-d\\10=d

Since we’re asked for the sum of c and d, the answer is 7+10=17.
